I did this half-sleeve on a very nice guy from Montana who wanted to memorialize his experiences in the wilderness there with his recently deceased father. Also included was the theme of nature reclaiming man's encroachment on it, so the crumbled bridge and path getting overgrown were used to symbolize this. On the inner arm the scene turns to night, with a tent, backpack and campfire. I worked almost entirely from the client's own photos taken on his hikes and camping trips. I drew this tattoo on the skin directly with markers, and completed it in three 5-7 hour sittings.
